Americas Card Room $6 Million Venom Sets Record As Biggest Poker Tournament In Site History
"Our players drove us to this, and we couldn't be more excited about what has transpired," stated Americas Card Room spokesperson Michael Harris. "We made another millionaire in a matter of months. And we can't wait to do it again next year."
The $6 Million Venom was the US-facing site's biggest tournament ever. It spanned two weeks, with four Day 1 options to choose from and players moving through Day 2 and 3, and onto Wednesday night's final table.
With 2,696 total entrants, the final prize pool shot up to a record-setting $6,740,000. The winner was guaranteed $1 Million, just like during the $5 Million Venom this past summer which had a $6,382,500 prize pool.
The $6 Million Venom featured a $2,650 buy-in, but Americas Card Room ran a slew of Satellites, Mega Satellites, Steps, and Skips to help players secure a seat for pennies on the dollar.
While galodoido13 earned the greatest sum for his performance, the final table featured multiple 6-figure winners alongside him, including Saranga in 2nd ($746,118), gillobono in 3rd ($553,354), ZackThornton in 4th ($363,960), Crusher1991 in 5th ($234,552), mozart528 in 6th ($155,694), and SebTozzi in 7th ($109,188).
Those who missed the boat on the $6 Million Venom need not worry. Americas Card Room plans to host one every 6 months, with the next slated for June 2020.
